Kurt Speas began selling the Nissan LEAF electric vehicle (EV) in 2011 and is now Hawaii’s top-selling EV salesperson. Along with selling the LEAF, Kurt also drives one, allowing him to share his own experiences related to benefits and challenges of being an EV owner.
Growing up in Tennessee, Kurt fondly remembers how his dad built a small, electric car that had three wheels and looked like a little boat. That childhood memory of riding in his dad’s homemade EV around the family farm influenced his passion for today’s modern EVs.
