Kalo, or taro, does more than just provide food and nourishment. Through the nonprofit Ho‘okua‘aina program, the community's youth is cultivating and preparing kalo, while also sharing the Hawaiian culture and preserving its traditions. We spoke with founder Dean Wilhelm about his program and the role clean energy plays.
